Today we are extremely excited to announce the re-launch of mycardfolio.com including a free eBay-based price guide and much more. Read on for a description of the new features and a few old ones you may not have been aware of.
Free Baseball Card Price Guide
Starting today we will publish a free baseball card price guide based on closed eBay auction data. Not all of our cards are priced yet but as we process more auction data, more and more cards will be priced. This is by far the feature we are most excited about and we hope you like it too. This feature will always be free since we believe all collectors should have free and easy access to card information. You don't even need an account to check a price on our site. Although without one you won't be able to track the total value of your cardfolio. If we are successful we hope to launch free price guides for all other sports cards as soon as possible. You can read more about our pricing methodology here.
Brand New Site Design
To improve your experience we've completely redesigned mycardfolio.com. We've made site navigation more prominent to make it clearer where you are on the site and easier to get to where you want to go. And to highlight the new price guide we've added card detail pages. On the card detail page you will find a larger image of the card, a list of the card's information and attributes, and a complete list and chart of the eBay auctions, sorted by grade, used to price the card.
Easy to Use Collecting Tools
One of our original goals for mycardfolio.com was to provide tools to collectors that make it easy to manage a large collection. Our first step towards this goal was to make it easy for you to easily add entire sets to your cardfolio which you can do on any set page. In addition we've created a quick way for you to add multiple cards from a set by typing in the card numbers. This is perfect when your opening packs of cards. For example, if you have just opened a pack of 2009 Topps and need to add cards 8, 27, 101, and 230 to your cardfolio you don't need to scroll down the page to find the cards. Simply browse to the 2009 Topps Base Set page and type "8 27 101 230" into the textbox at the top of the page and press Enter! In the future we hope to make it even easier to add cards to your cardfolio like allowing you to import large amounts of cards you may have listed in a spreadsheet or on another website.
Card Rating System
With the new version of mycardfolio.com we've added up to 5-star ratings for each card in our database. As the number ratings in our database grows we will use the ratings to make relevant recommendations to you much like Netflix or Amazon. Stay tuned!
